Blue Angels MC History

Blue Angels Motorcycle Club were founded in the Maryhill District of Glasgow, Scotland in 1963 by Allen Morrison, Lenny Reynolds, Billy Gordon and Tommy Howells.

The original hangout of the club in the forming days was a club by the name of Papingo. The club was open late, which suited the group who would become the basis of the Blue Angels Motorcycle Club.

Being founded in 1963 places them at the very beginning of one percenter motorcycle clubs in the general European region.

The name “Blue” stands for Bastards, Lunatics, Undesirables and Eccentrics.

Blue is also the main colour in the flag of Scotland.

The official support club of the Blue Angels Motorcycle Club is known as Tribe 21. The “21” in the naming comes from the second and first letters of the alphabet, B (Blue) and A (Angels). Tribe 21 has a number of chapters spread throughout similar areas to where the Blue Angels chapters exist.

Blue Angels MC Patch / Motto

The Blue Angels Motorcycle Club patch is made up of a skill with wings who is wearing a German style army helmet, with a small flag placed on the right hand side of the helmet.

The design was based on boat that was seen by John McDermot in Loch Lemond, the largest inland stretch of freshwater based on surface area in Great Britain, in 1963.
